Nuclear Technology Is The Reaction Of An Atomic Nuclei

Nuclear technology is the reaction of an atomic nuclei. The same applies to nuclear weapons. There are two types of nuclear weapons: fission and fusion, which are created by the splitting or the fusing of atoms. Nuclear weapons were introduced in the 1930s, but they are still vital in the 21st century; however, in order to understand their importance we must first understand their physical composition and how they work to achieve to mass destruction. All existing nuclear weapons stem at least some of their explosive energy from nuclear fission reactions. A fission reaction, more commonly known as an atomic bomb is when a form of uranium-235 or plutonium-239 is accumulated into the amount of material needed to create a nuclear reaction. Uranium- 235 was primarily used because of two reasons: one being that U-235 releases two neutrons when it fissions which allows this element to produce a chain reaction and because it is much lighter than Uranium 238 which allows it travel to faster a nd thus producing more damage. An atomic bomb works in one of two ways: one way is the â€Å"gun† method which is when a piece of material is shot into another piece of material which will start the reaction.
